So a typical CPD day teachers would join us to have a programme overview, learn about the content of the programme, and take part in some practical activities that the children would be doing back at school.

I think that teachers are great because they just give it a go and they’re really open to just trying new things and because they have lots of resources to support them, like PowerPoints and short videos. They feel they’ve got all the things that they need to be able to recap and remember what they’re doing with the children.

We are here today to learn about immersive writing experiences. It’ll be really interesting, really helpful, lots of things that you can definitely use in the classroom and ways to make the writing really rich

Before you teach something. Having the expertise of somebody showing you how to use those resources and develop those resources means that the outcomes for the children are going to be so much more enhanced.

The programs definitely help the children engage better with their learning. Some of them can be quite shy and this is their time. They’ve come out their shells and they’ve also experienced success and they’ve made something they’re really, really proud of.

Doing art has made me more confident, to show people my work and it’s made me better at doing lots of different techniques with art.

When we first started in the first session, I noticed how quiet some of them were, and then by the third session, you’ve got them shouting at the top of their voice, like on a massive ship.

Learning something new has helped me with my reading to pronounce words that are hard for me to pronounce, and because since it’s a different language, there’s new words that I have to learn.

It was really, really lovely seeing the amount of parents that came into the classroom to look at the children’s work. You can see when they saw their parents come in, their faces lit up that they, and were really excited to show it all to them. It’s not just about their work, it’s about the collective class as work as well, which was really nice to see.

Because our child is deaf, we do tend to not always go to experiences like that, don’t we? Yeah. When the actors came into school and it was obvious that Tyler was able to hear everything really well and they were very adaptable to his needs, it definitely means that we will try some of these things, definitely and go to theatre would be great.

I enjoyed it because my dream is to be an actor and when I’m acting, I just like, feel, feel that I’m really here. I just like feel inside. I’m here.
