Make, Create, Celebrate

Make, Create, Celebrate is a holistic visual arts programme of work combining participation in one of our 6-week, in-school Delight in Art programmes: Rainforest Retreat or Delight in Watts; alongside additional family focused activities: Family Art Exhibition Activity and Take Home Art Park; and Community Art and Wellbeing Sessions.

Over 6 weeks, our Delight in Art programmes enable children to work on the same creative project over several weeks to cultivate calm, focus, patience and resilience.

Artists from Paintbox and class teachers worked alongside the children and the programme culminates in an exhibition of the children’s work.

At the end of programme exhibitions, children can teach their parents/caregivers some of the art techniques they have learned through the Family Art Exhibition Activity. They then take this learning home with a Take Home Art Pack which includes templates, colouring pens, glue and scissors giving children the chance to revisit activities and share their knowledge with their families.

Children and parents/caregivers can also take part in a series of weekend art sessions led by Paintbox where they explore Modroc, printmaking, painting and clay. These sessions were joyful and therapeutic, giving children and their parents/caregivers a chance to take part in shared visual art activities.
